Piston Seals
Piston Seals, also known as piston rings, seal fluid in hydraulic cylinders. They are designed to prevent fluid from leaking across the cylinder head due to pressure pushing the piston down into the bore.
Piston seals keep the piston bore, and cylinder bore in contact. The piston seal is subject to high pressure from the moving piston rod, which causes contact forces to increase between the sealing surface and the seal. To ensure a good seal performance, it is essential to know the properties of the sealing surfaces.
