Adaptors
The fittings are steel (11SMPb37), partly obtained from extruded bar and molding. These fittings are resistant to high tightening and leakage, easy assembly, and the ability to disassemble multiple times.
Adapters are components that join threads of different sizes or forms to each other. Sometimes adaptors can also be fittings. If the ORB female port on the cylinder I mentioned earlier had to be attached to a female JIC end, the adapter fitting would then be ORB male to JIC male. Because ORB adapters are fittings almost always, their very nature makes them a "boss," a female port within a component.
